Nick Enge and Melissa Carvell teach all of the dances which will be played at Tuesday Night Salsa.

Salsa
This hot and spicy Latin dance is the core of Tuesday Night Salsa, where half of the night will be salsa music. Tonight we'll teach the basic step and some of the all-time classic variations.

Cha Cha
A slow, playful version of salsa, cha ha has the same vocabulary, but with a very different feeling. We'll also take a look at Mambo, a slow salsa halfway between cha cha and salsa tempos, and Latin Waltz, a slow salsa danced in even waltz timing.

Bachata
Popular around the world, bachata is a Latin dance that combines the sultry sex appeal of salsa with the relaxed elegance of slower club dances. A wide variety of different social dance variations can be adapted to bachata, allowing you to turn up the heat on all your favorite figures.

Cumbia
A hybrid of salsa and nightclub two step, cumbia can easily double your repertoire of fast Latin variations with a simple change of footwork.

Samba
An Africanized polka popularized in Brazil, samba is an energetic dance with many unique and exciting variations.

Merengue
An easy walking dance, merengue is all about the figures, stealing vocabulary for every social dance there is.

Rumba
The slowest of the Latin dances, rumba is uniquely slow and sensual, while still allowing for a wide variety of footwork variations and figures.

Zouk
A relatively new addition to the Latin dance scene, zouk is a kind of Latin blues, sometimes called "the dance of love."
