An Rince Mór Mixer



Origin

This mixer is inspired by the Irish dances "An Rince Mór" and "Lannigan's Ball." It was choreographed by Nick and Melissa Enge for St. Patrick's Day 2017 at Friday Night Waltz.

The Music

32 bars.

The Formation

Couples in a circle, facing LOD, Follows on the right, holding inside hands high.

The Figure

8 bars: Promenade eight leaping two-steps along LOD.

8 bars: Take hands in a big circle (hands high) and circle left with four leaping two-steps (4 bars), then circle right with four leaping two-steps (4 bars).

8 bars: Leads turn to the lady on the left and swing her halfway around by right elbows with two leaping two-steps (2 bars). Then swing partner halfway around by left elbows (2 bars). Repeat (4 bars).

8 bars: Dance one full turn of turning leaping two-step with partner (2 bars). Then Lead promenades LOD with two leaping two-steps, as the Follow turns in place (2 bars). Repeat the turn with second lady and the promenade LOD away from her (4 bars), to repeat the whole dance with the third lady.
